Like any summer blockbuster, there’s always a sequel. If you’ve already read this summer’s Internviews Part I, then you’re all set for Part II! Get to know Eleanor & Sarah.

Eleanor Alexander, Junior Copywriter

1) Where are you from? If you could plan a tour of your hometown, what 3 stops would you pick and why?

I live in a super small Michigan town called Bellevue. Because it’s so small, everything within a half-hour radius is more or less considered home (luckily this will help make for a much more interesting tour).

To start, we’d go to Nina’s Taqueria in Battle Creek. It’s my favorite restaurant and I swear it’s the best Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life.

After Nina’s we’d go to Sweetwaters, a local legend. They’ve been voted the best donuts in the state many years over and are nationally ranked as some of the best in the country.

After eating, a tour wouldn’t be complete without driving around and seeing some of the cool murals. These range from elaborate one-eyed monsters to a Sojourner Truth tribute (towards the end of her life she lived in Battle Creek!).

2) What’s your favorite digital marketing task so far? What’s something you’re excited to learn more about in digital marketing?

My favorite part of my job is writing blogs for clients. It’s so much fun to write about such a wide variety of things. Through my research, I’m always learning something I didn’t know before.

I also like to optimize old content. I research different ways of wording client content and revise it so that it’s more relevant and will (hopefully!) perform better.

Digital marketing is such an exciting, developing field – I’d love to learn more about the SEO side of things. While I have a basic understanding of SEO and how to use it, there’s so much to learn. The more I learn about it, the better I’ll be at my job!

3) How would you explain your internship to a kindergartner?

It depends on the patience of the particular kindergartner.

I’d start by saying that as a copywriter for a digital marketing agency, I write the stuff that you see online. Every time you search for something online, someone had to write the results pop up.

If they were still listening by this point I’d explain that I didn’t write everything online, only some of the content, the content for our clients. If they had stopped listening by now, I’d go ahead and let them think I’ve written everything on the internet.

4) The Lollapalooza organizers have decided to make you in charge of the festival next year. Who’s headlining? What kinds of food trucks would you invite? Any new things you’d add?

I’m going to Lollapalooza this year for the first time – the full four day experience. I’m a little worried it’ll be too much for me. But if I was organizing it I’d go every single day.

I’d have Lorde (I know she’s coming this year, that’s why I’m going. But I love her so you better believe I’d have her back), Hozier, The All-American Rejects, Keaton Henson, Tom Rosenthal, Arctic Monkeys, Birdy, Eliza Doolittle, Coldplay, Ella Eyre, Frank Ocean, Ingrid Micheleson, Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers, Niykee Heaton. I could keep going.

I’d have a wide range of food trucks, I want everything, pizza, tacos, definitely some Indian food, all the desserts you could imagine. I don’t like Thai food but I’ll throw in one Thai food truck for the many who do.

Since I’ve never been I can’t say for sure anything I’d add. But I would want some bouncy castles and blow-up obstacle courses. Maybe some water slides. Free seating and secret pop-up concerts for select few. VIP room access for ALL.

Sarah Beyer, Junior Designer

1) Where are you from? If you could plan a tour of your hometown, what 3 stops would you pick and why?

I was born in San Diego, but I grew up in St. Charles, IL.

If I were to pick three stops around my hometown, I’d suggest Kimmer’s Ice Cream (where I went after every softball game), Arcedium Coffee Shop (where I did all my studying through college), and the Arcada theatre, which is where my town hosts concerts and comedy acts.

2) What’s your favorite digital marketing task so far? What’s something you’re excited to learn more about in digital marketing?

My favorite task so far was working on the A/B Testing Infographic. I think infographics have become a very useful tool in the world of digital marketing because they can convey a lot of information with just a few thoughtful graphs and icons.

It was a great opportunity to see how one was built out and applied across different client types. I think this type of design is going to be very important in the future, so I am excited to do more projects like that one.

3) How would you explain your internship to a kindergartner?

What do you want to be when you grow up? When I was in kindergarten, I wanted to be an artist – and now I am!

I make art and drawings on computers about advertising. I have to think very creatively and use problem-solving skills to make new designs. I love that I am able to be artistic and how every design is another challenge.

4) The Lollapalooza organizers have decided to make you in charge of the festival next year. Who’s headlining? What kinds of food trucks would you invite? Any new things you’d add?

I’d have Bombay Bicycle Club headline because I’ve been waiting for them to tour in America for years. I’d definitely invite Cravings Food Truck, which is a local legend around my college town. (They serve amazing breakfast food.)

I’d definitely add another day to the festival, who wouldn’t want Lolla to last longer?
